It’s his KINDNESS That leads to repentance

You know, I used to believe repentance was tied to an angry god. At least, I perceived him that way But I hadn't actually gotten to know him. I had no clue how kind, loving, patient he is. I only feared him.

Fear is not from the lord. Love is. I think of it from the perspective of a mom now. How heartbreaking it would be if my children only feared me. If they were afraid to truly draw near to me because of this fear. How often do we do this with God? HE changes us from the inside out.

Religion tries to change us from the outside in. Or have us appear we are changed from the outside… yet we stay damaged and damage so many others in the process.

Jesus is coming back, for a spotless bride. One sold out to him. Dwelling in his truth, ministered by his love.

Why are we, as a church, leading people to works before leading them to Christ?

He alone is the answer. To know him, is to receive him. When we receive him, we receive his love, his grace, his mercy. That is what gives us the power to change. The power to overcome. The power to be free. To stay free. To love freely. To give freely. To forgive freely. To judge not. It is by his stripes we are healed.

His grace is an ocean. His love a fountain. His mercies new every day. His glory, so pure; so holy, one moment in it changes us for a lifetime. His wells never run dry. We search our whole life to fill what the lord can in a moment. Thank you lord, for walking me through your grace.

“22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.” Lamentations 3:22-26

“So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance?” Romans 2:3-4

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
